A trained architect and curator, Ahmed Morsi meanders between architecture, writing, publishing, painting, and video. Much of his interests and work explore themes around real estate development, the spatialization of dissidence, and the politics of dilapidation. His thesis traced the social, theoretical, and technical history and evolution of adaptive reuse, focusing on the interplay between dissident cultural spaces and arts-led urban development, and received the Fondazione Prada “Premio di Laurea” award. In 2021, Ahmed co-founded Dataland Publications. He later completed a postgraduate certificate in curation at Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) as part of a curatorial fellowship at Fondazione Prada in Milan where he went on to join the curatorial team for a year. Ahmed continues to work across adaptive reuse, interior architecture, and exhibitions, and lives between Cairo and New York City.
